These bottles were later poured by Low and his entourage, which now included Hilton.įor her 29th birthday in Las Vegas, Low gave Hilton $250,000 in gambling chips and gifted her a Cartier watch. A year later, he rented Paul Allen’s superyacht and spent millions on champagne. According to the book, she told friends she got paid $100,000 per event. Still in love with Paris Hilton, Low contacted her manager in 2009 to see if he could pay her to attend his parties. Highlights included running up a $160,000 tab at New York City’s The Avenue, and sending 23 bottles of Cristal champagne to Lindsay Lohan’s table at 1Oak. In “ Billion Dollar Whale“, a book about Low, the authors write that he spent $85 million on parties between October 2009 and June 2010. Expenses for parties went up to six figures as he paid celebrities like Megan Fox, Paris Hilton, and Leonardo DiCaprio to attend, according to the New York Post. This initial amount was nothing compared to the more significant sums that came after, giving him access to unlimited wealth. He took control of the fund and siphoned $700 million to himself. He learned how to set up shell companies and moved large sums of money around, according to prosecutors.Īs the new prime minister looked for ways to fund his government, Low came up with the idea of creating a sovereign wealth fund, and 1MDB was born. Three years later, Najib Razak became prime minister, and Low reinvented himself, becoming the alleged mastermind behind offshore financing. This connection gave Low status, giving him access to Malaysian banks that lent him billions of dollars. ![]() While this plan didn’t work out as he had hoped, he was able to connect Malaysian deputy prime minister Najib Razak with Mubadala Development, an investment fund. ![]() Max payne3 has a amazing shooting/physics mechanic, but the story I feel is not really a max payne story. Now he has to walk around with the death of friends, bosses, old allies on top of his wife and daughter's deaths. Max is just alone everyone from the first game the police captain, vlad, woden, Mona all dead and just leaving max alive. Yet Max finds out vlad is out to get him (for some odd reason I forget) and Mona dies in front of him so does Woden the man who helped him get revenge off the woman who put a hit on his wife from the first game. So when Mona walks back into his life he for once feels maybe just a hope of romace/not being alone. He only has one friend in the world Vladmir from the first game. He has been living what now 10-12 years without his wife and child instead of the few years/months of the first game. He is now more wiser and filled with more lonilenes. In max payne 2 though I feel is more depressing Max is now older and basically in the first game honestly thought he was going to go down in a blaze of glory. Max payne1 is a bumpy ride filled with sorrow, quick wit, and hatred all from Max himself. ![]() The first one had the tragic death of his wife and child, but he was filled with revenge more than regret. I feel that out of all the series max payne2 was the most depressing. I'm meandering, but the point is you come out of that stuff either dead or fucked up. I guess the Soviets did celebrate, but their celebrations tended to include Iron Curtains and mass rape, not surprising considering they had almost been exterminated. I mean, when the concentration camps were liberated the Jews didn't don party hats and throw a how-down. When you go through something like that there's no celebration, no fun times. ![]() I actually think a happy ending would've been 1000 x worse than the one they had. It was like the music, the artwork, the atmosphere, and the reapers all fucked and the baby was the apocalypse. And then Marcelo.Īnd it's also why I think Mass Effect 3 was one of the best games ever despite the mehish ending. That's not supposed to happen! Really increased the stakes for me. When Fabiana was executed I almost shit myself. I love it when games/art/music invoke emotion, it doesn't have to make me feel good, it could invoke anger or depression, but if it makes me feel something I count it as a resounding success. I don't think many games, at least successfully, go there. That's actually one of the reasons why I love it.
![]() Update: I rescanned the codes and I'm not sure if I missed it before but along with P0303 (same 3rd cylinder, a "current" code) I'm getting P0660 (Intake Manifold Tuning Valve Control Circuit/Open Bank 1) which is under "pending" codes. I'm at least a year out from affording another car. ![]() Well anyway thanks for reading all this and any advice is welcome. I could try switching plug and/or coil around, maybe? I'm wondering if maybe I got a bad deal on the plug/coil work. I keep getting the OBD-II code for P033 I think, for the 3rd plug. I'll do it if there's a good chance it'll kill the missing problem. Should I go ahead and have the intake manifold replaced? That's easily gonna be a 600$+ job that I can't do. Now it's even worse - I think running the compressor for the AC has got it all angry and it just feels like it's about to wobble out of the dang hood. So, it's OK for going to work for a job and back but that's it. If I make a quick grocery run, it misses once I'm on the return trip. I wish I had had one of these things in its prime! Also, it is really fun to drive as I'm sure y'all already know. He replaced the timing belt and water pump so I was hoping to get to 200k miles. Suffice it to say that costs will likely increase over time - and if history is any guide, we can expect long-term inflation of around 3.8% per year. Nobody knows what future inflation rates will be.The cost of raising children varies from year to year. There are two problems with this approach, however: Theoretically, this figure will rise by around 3.8% per year - meaning the cost will be $16,613 in Year 2, $17,244 in Year 3, and so on. We estimate an annual expense of $16,005, based on 2022 figures. To conceptualize this, it’s helpful to look at the yearly cost. This means that the cost to raise a child should increase at a rate of approximately 3.8% each year. Looking at long-term average inflation rates from 1960 through 2021, we can see that costs rise around 3.8% per year, on average. The latest official figure we have is for a child born in 2015, and the estimated cost is $233,610 total.įor 2022, the inflation-adjusted estimated cost is around $288,094 total, or approximately $16,005 per year.īut what about the future? It’s difficult to predict how fast the cost of living will rise, but increasing costs are almost inevitable due to inflation. It’s also important to keep in mind that overall costs will likely continue increasing over time as a result of inflation, eating away at buying power. Some years may be quite high, while others may be much lower. Of course, costs will vary significantly from year to year. While that’s still a hefty figure, it seems far more attainable than $288,094! Taking a rough average, that’s around $16,005 per year - or approximately $1,334 per month. The $288,094 figure can seem incredibly intimidating - but remember, that cost is spread out over 18 years. How much does raising a child cost yearly? ![]() Just as households spend drastically different amounts on entertainment, dining out, etc., spending on children varies substantially. public school, can greatly impact total costs. Lifestyle choices: Lifestyle choices, like the decision to send children to private school vs. For this reason, raising two children doesn’t necessarily cost twice as much as raising one child. But that single-family home could likely accommodate two children for the same cost. For example, having one child may require a family to move from a less expensive apartment to a more expensive single-family home. Number of children: Some costs, like housing, don’t necessarily increase in a linear fashion with additional children. 2022 data shows that 51% of parents spend more than 20% of their household income on childcare alone. For instance, a family with a stay-at-home parent might spend next to nothing on childcare, while a household with both parents working (and no nearby family) might spend a huge amount on childcare. However, this figure can vary significantly depending on the situation. Childcare: Childcare and education costs can account for up to 16% of total costs, according to USDA data. We can find the estimated cost for a child born today by calculating the inflation-adjusted figure. Inflation means that a dollar 10 years ago could buy more goods and services than it can today. It is important to keep in mind that this USDA data was gathered for children born in the year 2015, as this is the most recent government data available related to the cost of raising kids.ĭue to rising costs and inflation, this number is no longer accurate.
